About Wendy Gutterson

I’m the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Physician Management Resources, a nationwide healthcare practice management, outsourcing, and consulting company. PMR focuses on helping medical practices and healthcare organizations achieve greater success by boosting strategic, operational, and financial performance. By taking over all or part of the practice’s operations, we help our clients navigate the healthcare landscape, become more resilient, operate more effectively, and increase profitability. We help clients set up, improve, and/or outsource their practice in 5 key areas: Practice Management Credentialing Financial Oversight Revenue Cycle Support Human Resources Clients receive practice assessment to identify trends and opportunities; revenue analysis to capture provider cost, volume assessment, capacity and projections; strategies to manage major transitions such as partnership changes and the introduction of new systems; and practice management support to align perspectives and expectations across the care continuum. At PMR, we are devoted to helping individuals and groups become the kind of providers that every patient wants and deserves to see and every clinician wants to be. My career has spanned diverse leadership roles at organizations ranging from large nonprofit providers and independent physician practices to consultancies in the sector. We serve clients in 45 states and have worked with more than 250 medical practitioner start-ups. My strengths include: Operationalizing vision Optimizing financial data for practice management decisions Team building I enjoy working in governance roles and am an Advisory Council Member of the Lyric Stage Boston, serve on the Dean’s Advisory Council and as an Honorary Trustee of Simmons University, and am the Incoming President of Temple Beth Shalom in Needham, MA. Harvard Medical School has invited me to participate in its Career Advancement and Leadership Skills for Women in Healthcare course each year since 2018.
