About Wendy Thompson

I am an efficient and competent PA with over 30 years’ experience gained within the legal profession. During this time, I have demonstrated an ability to provide a high level of PA/Paralegal support to a busy team of lawyers. I am hardworking, reliable, adaptable, easy going and always enthusiastic to learn new skills. I was always fascinated by TV programmes that featured court cases with the barristers presenting their cases and it became my ambition to work within the legal profession. I was very fortunate that straight after leaving school I was able to fulfil my goal of working predominantly as a litigation legal PA/secretary. I have found over the past 18 years during my time working in my present position, that my work preference has been leaning more and more towards mediation/problem solving. This is due in the main to seeing my managers, in their roles as mediators, help clients to communicate in such a way in bringing about an agreement that they both had an input in making, which sadly unlike the divorce process, can be so contentious that once an agreement has been reached, the underlying feeling that one party has ultimately done better than the other can sometimes cause resentment amongst those involved. For my next role, I would relish the opportunity of working within an in-house/mediation environment where the ethos is on encouraging and furthering personal and professional development. When I'm not working, I enjoy going to the gym, going to the theatre and cinema and generally socialising with family and friends.
