In my career, I have specialized in edtech, healthcare data analytics, front-end development, data engineering, and UI/UX design. In my longest role at CGI Inc. with Cigna, the fourth largest US insurer, I gained extensive experience in healthcare data analytics. My current role at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the second largest in Louisiana, is a data and reporting analyst where I develop queries, reports, and dashboards for institutional use. My focus is on optimizing processes, sleek and responsive front-ends, and improving data-driven solutions for end users. I am proficient in SQL, Databricks, AWS services, Node.js, TypeScript, and modern web technologies like Angular. I have worked with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Teradata, and Hive, and have automated workflows using ActiveBatch, Jenkins, Terraform (IaC), Databricks, and Python. My work involves optimizing performance, ensuring data integrity, and integrating systems, while prioritizing user experience and scalability. Before becoming a software engineer, I worked as a phlebotomist, giving me unique insights into the impact of technology on healthcare, including data management and patient experience. This background allows me to bridge the gap between technical solutions and the human side of tech. I am passionate about mentoring future software engineers. At my alma mater, I was nominated and employed as a student instructor and "Engineer Ambassador". I've led programming workshops and camps, teaching computer science concepts to students from elementary school to university seniors. Guiding others in their technical journeys is a career highlight, and I aim to foster creativity, problem-solving, and a love for technology.
