About Wera Larsson

I am a researcher in Physical Chemistry, specialized in Photochemistry with plenty of experience in spectroscopy, problem solving and scientific communication. I finished my PhD in April 2024, and I am therefore actively looking for my next fun position. I am primarily looking for a research oriented position, in an R&D or product development department but I am also open to move more towards project management if the right position and team pops up!My PhD research has been on the topic of controlling photochemical reactions in various ways, primarily using photon upconversion. This has been a way of using lower energy light to control high energy processes, which can be used to overcome spectral mismatches in fields like solar energy conversion and tissue penetration. My curiosity in this field stems from how we as humans instead of adapting to the light that we have at hand, e.g. the sunlight reaching Earth, can use chemistry to manipulate light to match our needs.I have very much enjoyed being part of a research group where learning and curiosity plays a big role, and where we help each other to reach commons goals.
