About Werner Schutte

I’m an operational manager at Hencon BV - Fleet Management, addressing contracts and projects for international clients in the aluminium smelting and mining industry. Previously I worked as a senior business consultant contracted as a program manager to Anglo American. In this role I lead a group of projects at one of Anglo American's underground operations, overseeing a team of business analysts, change managers and project managers. Before that I worked for Bluhm Burton Engineering (BBE - Energy) as a project manager and was lucky enough to work with amazing clients such as Goldfields, Harmony, Impala, Lonmin and Sibanye. I’m truly passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other engineers and project managers. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favourite stage of a project is working with the client or business unit leader to understand his or her business objectives. As we go through that collaborative process, the ideas start to flow and that’s always the fun part. I have a degree in electrical engineering, mining engineering and an MBA.
