About Werner van Acker

Werner van Acker (1962), engineer industrial electronics, began his professional career at Hercules Inc. After holding various positions in the maintenance department, he moved into the managers role and spearheaded policy decisions needed to implement effective and sustainable maintenance. Werner then worked for a decade at Stork as a Senior Management Consultant. Through his methodical approach at both the organizational and technical level, he has realized numerous successful projects in maintenance, production and engineering departments. Besides maintenance and project management, his interest and passion is mainly Turnaround Management. From 2012 onwards, Werner has worked at Evonik Antwerp, Technical Services ( TI Technology & Infrastructure) as Technical Governance Manager. In this position he is mainly concerned with optimizing various processes within maintenance, turnarounds and engineering, as well as in internal marketing of the services of Business Line Technical Services. As a representative of the Antwerp Site, he also works with the global "Competence Center" in Turnaround Management, to standardize the turnaround process at Evonik worldwide. In the last ten years, Werner has also been a lecturer on multiple courses on turnaround maintenance and management. Since 2009 he has been giving the 3 Day Training:"Shutdown Management", and also provides trainings for Fleming Europe, IIR,BEMAS, VIK and IFBD.
