About Wes Epton

As a Partner in EY’s Tysons, Virginia office, I have 20 years of experience serving technology, telecommunications, and media companies. I’ve had the privilege to work with a wide range of organizations, including both public and privately-held growth-oriented companies, helping to advise entrepreneurs, management teams and board of directors address the challenges of running fast-growing businesses. As a partner in EY’s Assurance practice, I lead teams of dedicated professionals in providing audit services to clients in headquartered in the Greater Washington area. I have extensive experience working with companies on public offerings, private placements, revenue recognition, business combinations, stock-based compensation, and equity & debt transactions. I am responsive, pro-active and accessible to my clients. I lead EY’s Chesapeake (Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland) practice’s Technology, Media & Entertainment and Telecommunications (TMT) market segment. Our TMT team consists of high-performing audit, tax, advisory and transactions professionals who are dedicated to serving the businesses headquartered in the Chesapeake region. We work with a wide range of leading TMT companies as well as emerging companies that are poised to be the next wave of market leaders focused on transformational tech, such as cloud computing, SaaS, consumer marketplaces, telecommunications, big data, cybersecurity, and Health IT. I am active in the Greater Washington venture capital community, representing EY with the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association (MAVA). I am also a member of the Organizing Board for Mindshare. MindShare is an exclusive, invitation-only network of chief executive officers (CEOs) from the most promising emerging and high-growth technology companies in the Washington, DC region I previously served on the Advisory Board for the Washington DC chapter of Back on My Feet, an organization focused on combating homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. I am EY’s campus coordinating partner for my alma mater, James Madison University, managing our relationship with the university and leading recruiting activities. I also am a baseball coach with Arlington Little League.
