Background

About Wes Lloyd

I am an associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Washington in Tacoma, Washington. My research interests broadly encompass distributed systems and software engineering. I have published research in the areas of cloud computing, scientific computing, performance modeling, web/service computing, software metrics, and requirements engineering. I harness machine learning and statistical techniques to address scaling, autonomy, and resource management to support software migration to cloud and distributed systems. I am particularly interested in techniques which support performance improvements of scientific models and applications while reducing hosting costs in both public and private clouds. My research supports environmental modeling for the US Department of Agriculture. My advisor at Colorado State University was Dr. Shrideep Pallickara. While at Colorado State University I have worked closely with Dr. Olaf David and Dr. Mazdak Arabi. Please note, for LinkedIn connections, I connect with people whom I've met at conferences, through teaching, prior collaborations, or friendship. I believe in maintaining the value of social network connections. If looking make contact, please reach out by email. My email is available on my University of Washington homepage - thank you!
