About Wes Schofield

My name is Wes Schofield. I am a recent graduate of NAIT’s Architectural Technology program. In A.T. I have found the common link to various fields in which I have a passionate interest: Construction, Art, Mathematics, and Communication. I am excited to be an emerging professional in the A.E.C industry, where there is great opportunity to learn, collaborate, and embrace challenges. I have developed a competency to create Construction Documents for residential and light commercial buildings using REVIT and AUTOCAD. I am trained to produce Design Development Drawings using REVIT and SketchUP. I can create Architectural Style hand drawn Renders, in addition to Computer Generated Renders in SketchUP, Twin Motion, and Adobe Photoshop. I have the skills necessary to effectively present these images alongside meaningful text using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. I have received instruction in the Professional Practice of an Architectural Technologist. I am familiar with the documentation required for Contract Bid Documents, Issuing Addenda, Specifications, the Change Order Process and Process Payments. I have the understanding required to produce this documentation using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Excel. I enjoy navigating the National Building Code and have learned to source relevant information in a timely manner. I appreciate it as a critical resource with provides us the means to construct safe, accessible, and durable buildings. Previously, I worked in the construction industry as a J.P. Carpenter for over ten years. In that time, I had the privilege of working on a wide range of projects, from a custom cottage on Patricia Lake in Jasper, Alberta (Gary Boocock) to the North East Anthony Henday Interchanges (Flatiron). I have worked high above the streets on Condo Towers (Jasper Constructors, Shearwall, Clark Builders) and below them as well, on the LRT tunnel (Flatiron) connecting Churchill to Grant McEwan University. I understand the hard work and team effort required to achieve success.
