About Wesley Mott

Currently Associate Manager, Business Intelligence Engineering in our Analytics department at I manage a team of 8 BI Developers. The developers are located throughout the US and Europe. Coming to from Rewards Network due to my Microstrategy knowledge, a year into the role I transitioned as the first BI developer to work with Tableau. This marked the second time in my career and a requirement to learn a new BI tool was required. In addition to managing workload for my team, I am the lead on conducting production moves. This requires knowledge of Python scripting, ensuring the stories going to production have been tested, and coordinating with our customer application support team to perform the moves. I also help and coach with Tableau development and SQL scripts. Throughout my BI career I have been involved with developing dashboards and scorecards, monitoring data quality, answering ad-hoc requests, data modeling, testing, developing complex SQL and CTE queries, and training end users on reporting tools. I have an interest in learning more about Python and how it relates to AI and Machine Learning. I am currently taking online training called "Learn Python with Fantasy Football" which I hope will refine and build my Python skills while learning more about Data Science. I have certifications as a Tableau Developer, Microstrategy Project Designer and Report Developer along with experience in Cognos. My Microstrategy expertise was accumulated without formal training, which serves to illustrate that I embrace the challenge of learning any Business Intelligence tool. Ongoing satisfaction comes from providing our business staff the information needed to make insightful decisions; thus, I feel the Business Intelligence field has been the perfect fit for my career.
