My name is Wesley Musick, and I've worked as a medical assistant for two years, and I enjoy this profession, particularly being able to help improve the lives of others around me.I believe that a good medical assistant is flexible, knowledgeable, empathetic, and respectful. I have learned to become flexible while working as the float medical assistant at my current job. I have worked in the Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Gynecology departments. I try to be knowledgeable, asking questions to my co-workers, providers, and supervisor when necessary to allow myself to give the best quality care possible. I maintain professionalism while staying empathetic to our patients; this allows for better care are increased rapport. I try to the best of my ability to remain respectful of my patients wishes, needs, and values, trying to put their needs first. I like to view myself as a calm, patient person and a boon to my colleagues. I am BLS certified and proficient with the Nextgen EM system and am familiar with the EPIC EMR system. My current daily schedule includes rooming and obtaining histories 30+ patients as well as maintaining an accurate chart, preparing and administering and oral or injectable medications or immunizations, performing procedures as ordered (i.e, EKGs, broncho spirometry, TM Flow, nebulizer treatments, pulse oximetry, ear lavages, finger sticks, heel sticks, phlebotomy, urine collection, etc.), as well as maintaining exam room and work area cleanliness and maintain a strict infection control. I also help train new MA and LVN staff as needed.
