About Wesley Ward

Long experience in conserving land through conservation easements, charitable gifts and bargain sales, and purchase, with emphasis on creative partnerships with local, state, and federal government. Committed to social equity and very interested in conservation and high quality stewardship of urban land as well as suburban, rural, and wild land. In February, 2018, I joined Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Northwest; its training and broker support and mentoring is exemplary. This misadventure ended in April 2019, when I returned to wrtiing my book, now titled "Nature Pushes Back: Land Conservation in a Changing World." In manuscript form, it was borrowed by a university class in conservation ecology and practice. Reviews were excellent and I'm in the process of revising the eighteen chapters for publication. Meanwhile, I've been working with three groups advocating for reduced diesel pollution in the Portland metropolitan area. The lack of effective national regulation of the trucking and construction equipment industries is a scandal. The technology exists for alleviating this scourge of communities and neighborhoods near major highways, railyards, ports, and large construction sites.
