About Wessen Jazrawi

I specialise in large-scale competition damages litigation. I have acted for multinational companies in such disputes as well as for consumers in complex opt-out claims. Notable representations include acting for a large group of international retailers in claims against MasterCard and VISA in relation to multilateral interchange fees, most recently for Primark as part of the Umbrella Interchange Fee proceedings. I also represented Privacy International in its intervention before the Competition Appeal Tribunal in relation to the Meta / Giphy merger. In the collective sphere, I was part of the team that filed the collective action against Qualcomm on behalf of Which. Most recently, I brought the claim against Amazon & Apple in Riefa v Amazon & Apple, and acted for the class representative in Coll v Google. In the human rights/environmental sphere, I have advised a group of Zambian villagers in toxic contamination claims against Vedanta Resources Ltd and Konkola Copper Mines plc, and was part of the team who filed the legal communication at the UN Rights of the Child Committee on behalf of Greta Thunberg and 15 other child petitioners. In the public law sphere, I have acted for the Good Law Project and EveryDoctor in respect of the Government’s decision to award a PPE public supply contract to Saiger LLC, and for two individuals in an action against the Government in respect of the inadequacy of its carbon budget policies / Net Zero strategy.
