About Wex Woo

The ingenuity of human creativity and enterprise never fails to amaze me. I've always enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, and knowing that this might be a challenge for future generations troubles me. But I also believe that the same industry and ambition can propel us into a new age of co-existence with the natural world. I aspire to learn (and fail) fast, especially in areas that interest me. Currently fascinated by how deep tech can be harnessed to drive data-driven agriculture, ultimately making the industry more sustainable in the face of Climate Change. In my present role, I navigate the intersection where technology and crop breeding meet. This involves deciphering disruptive innovations, and applying them in a way that adds value and reduces bottlenecks. I previously worked as Assistant Research Manager at a Singaporean vertical farming start-up, co-developing and prototyping a vertically-stacked indoor growing system. While working in a shipping container office, I learnt that I enjoy watching plants develop and thrive, and also discovered my passion for agriculture.
