I am passionate about the ever growing field of Health Information Technology, and all the possibilities that come with this field. With so many different possible career paths, and a huge need for employees in this field, I believe that Health Information Technology is my entrance into a field where I can help people each and every day with my technical and critical thinking skills. The advancement of technology, and the legislation passed in the past decade has opened up so many different avenues for technologically savvy individuals to come in and make a difference in a floundering healthcare system. I have found enjoyment in areas such as coding and billing, revenue cycle management, data quality assurance, data mining, information technology, performance improvement, and project management. These fields may be spread apart in definition, but come together under the broadened scope of Health Information Technology. I have been exposed to all of these fields, and found a sense of confidence when studying the subject material. I am eager to see where this road takes me, and plan to make a difference!
