About Whitney Kerr

I am currently a doctoral student in Epidemiology and Hudson Fellow at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center’s Hudson College of Public Health. I have a variety of interests including how the immune system influences health and disease across the lifespan, public health ethics, and healthcare utilization and outcomes research. I am currently pursuing projects exploring infection and inflammation-mediated adverse perinatal outcomes, women’s health and reducing disparate pregnancy outcomes, and pediatric vaccine uptake and parental vaccine hesitancy. Prior to pursuing my PhD I worked in research operations for five years and am an experienced project manager. I have worked in both clinical and epidemiological research. I have experience in research study design and implementation, grant writing, protocol development and management, bioethical considerations and regulatory compliance, data management and analysis, study coordination, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). I completed my Master of Science in Epidemiology in 2016, a Master of Bioethics degree in 2020, and hold several certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
