About Whitney Schaefer

Hi I am Whitney one of the outpatient dietitians at Parkview Regional and dietitian at Dekalb hospital. As outpatient dietitian, I work mostly with adolescents, adults and elderly. I see all different disease states such diabetes, chronic kidney disease, heart disease, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, celiac, obesity, and eating disorders such as anorexia nervousa, bulimia and binge. I work closely with eating disorders, and I am very compassionate, positive, and strong willed to my patients. I work hand in hand with patient’s therapist to help calm anxieties and distress caused along with the disease. I help patients build a healthy relationship amongst food, body image, and weight. I like to create meal plans and help with recipes and mealtimes. I promote mindful and intuitive eating practices with weight management.
