About Whitney Wright

Whitney Wright is the Founder and Creative Director of Bel Kai, a handmade jewelry brand that began in the dining room of her California bungalow, in 2006. With previous experience in creating jewelry as a hobby and after receiving a gift of a pendant made from paper, Whitney was inspired to create a collection of jewelry. Simple and classic in concept, but steeped in meaning, by sealing original artwork & custom images in sterling silver settings. Over the years, Whitney has established partnerships with influencers, artists, musicians & authors creating jewelry for collaboration, as well as unique jewelry for non-profits & organizations to support & bring awareness to many causes. In 2011, Whitney met her now-husband, Luke Wright, also an artist and founder (MudLOVE). Whitney, along with her husband, founded Belove, a give-back gift shop in Winona Lake, IN. Whitney styles & curates the space. And while Bel Kai and MudLOVE's products anchor the shop, Whitney also buys from local makers, give-back brands, and carries other lovely finds, including found vintage items. Belove gives back 5% of all sales to the local community. Whitney launched the first Bel Kai jewelry bar in Belove, where you can create a piece of jewelry, building from handmade & curated components that fit every style & personality. In February 2021, Whitney traveled to the Dominican Republic to train and establish a partnership with Vida Plena. Vida Plena, an artisan studio in the Dominican Republic, exists to empower women to break the cycle of poverty in their communities. They offer a holistic approach to training, offering each woman counseling, language tutoring, eventually supporting women as they become entrepreneurs. Now, every day, the beautiful, hard-working women at Vida Plena are creating Bel Kai jewelry. Whitney, and Luke, reside in Winona Lake, IN with their sons, Elliot, Silas, Wally & Holden.
