About Widya Pranayoga

As a versatile data professional, I use Python for robust data analysis, SQL for efficient database management, and JavaScript for dynamic web integrations. I earned a vocational economics degree from STAN on a full scholarship and later pursued accounting at the University of Indonesia. Despite these achievements, I felt a pull toward something beyond my academic background. In 2010, after graduating from STAN, I started my career managing a human resource database—a role that seemed far removed from accounting. This unexpected opportunity ignited a passion for coding. I taught myself using online resources like Google and tutorials, diving into tools like Microsoft Access, Visual Basic, and MS SQL Server. The excitement of problem-solving and developing the Human Resource Database App was truly rewarding. This passion for coding eventually led me to pursue a Data Science and Analytics degree at the University of Leeds, UK, which I completed in 2020. Guided by inspiring professors, I honed my programming and analytical skills, mastering Python, R, and advanced data analysis techniques with Hadoop. These skills proved invaluable in my work, such as applying machine learning for fraud detection in investigative roles, delivering actionable insights to organizations, and even teaching future data scientists at STAN. My journey continues, and I am eager to leverage my skills in coding and data analysis to drive meaningful impact.
