About Wietske Donkersloot

Trained as both historian and art historian, I have developed myself into a well-rounded project manager during successive positions in the cultural heritage sector. My focus is on projects at the crossroads of content-based research, ICT development and (inter)national collaboration, such as websites, databases, digitization, etc. As a social person with strong analytical skills, I like the typical project management tasks such as drafting budgets, planning charts and reports, but most of all I like to work with a group of people towards a common goal. I look beyond the deadline of my projects to ensure long-term results for an organisation: by bringing together museum specialists, technology experts, users and management and their different perspectives. Employers have credited my work as solid, reliable and structured, while team members describe me as committed, open and enthusiastic. After having worked for several museums and cultural institutions for 16 years, I became a self-employed contractor in 2016. This enables me to broaden my horizon and to offer and further develop my skills and expertise in the service of multiple heritage organisations.
