About Wietske Ploemen-Beers

Ever since I was little, I have had a passion for designing and building things. From paper models and (digital) drawings, to creating complete villages with Lego, my hands were never idle. Now I would like to use this passion to make a positive contribution to society. During my bachelor Civil Engineering, I learned how to create technical designs for both large scale projects, and small, detailed components. I wanted to combine my technical knowledge with my interest in the medical field. This led me to the master Biomedical Engineering, where I focused on the development of medical devices. As part of my internship and graduation project at DEAM, I developed my first medical instrument. This taught me how to develop a conceptual idea presented by doctors into a working prototype.
