About Will Alexander

As a professional, I am well-versed in real estate, construction, and sustainability. In recent years, I have really enjoyed the opportunity to lead teams of engineers, project managers, and specialists in deploying energy efficiency technologies to enhance the built environment throughout the United States. I am interested in furthering my growth beyond implementation and developing greater depth in my practice of improving and sustaining ongoing operations and resiliency of existing facilities. My career journey started in general contracting. I received a well-rounded preparation in Special Projects/Commercial Interiors, excelling at both office administration and field supervision. I had limited exposure to construction disciplines prior to this first role; so, I really immersed myself in green building and sustainability as an initial guide of how to do construction in a better way. I earned my LEED AP within my first year in construction. I split duties between project engineering and superintending for the first several years honing my understanding of how to bid, secure, and subcontract project opportunities as well as how to execute on those commitments operationally leading teams of subcontractors. Wanting to broaden my preparation in construction, I spent some time working on base building projects, picking up additional trade disciplines before securing my next transition point in serving as an Owner's Representative. It was in this role that I really developed effective consultative approaches in applying my construction knowledge in advocating for my various clients' interests. I had the privilege of working with some distinguished companies and brands. It was important experience in developing best practices and also remaining adaptive to the specific needs and preferences across entities, project delivery types, and market segments. I've continued throughout my career to engage in professional development and skill building. Whereas in the early part of my career, it was really important to me personally and professionally to demonstrate what I know/knew, these days, I find greater enjoyment and fulfillment in coaching and mentoring other early career professionals in how to resolve challenging project circumstances and accomplish objectives. I'm interested in learning how to do a few more things and helping to grow more young professionals along the way. In my spare time, I like building off-road trucks and working on race cars. I had the chance to race my truck on national TV a few years back and the habit kind of stuck.
