About Will Armbruster

I am highly motivated professional with a diverse background spanning political science, public policy, communications, natural resources management, and project management. I received my bachelors degree in political science with a minor in history from Miami University. While attending Miami I was able to broaden my global perspective through a transformative semester abroad in Luxembourg. Through my academic and professional experience I have developed a keen ability to navigate managing multiple projects, communicate with effectiveness, and work on a team both in a public or private setting. My career in public service begin at the Ohio House of Representatives in 2019 working as a legislative aide. This position provided me with exposure to the legislative process and experience handling constituent relations. During the 2020 election I served as the Deputy Political Director and Campaign Advisor for the Ohio House Caucus developing leadership and strategy skills. While leading 12 campaign managers in competitive races I developed and executed field strategies, advised candidates on resource allocation, and crafted winning strategies. I then took a position as Deputy Press Secretary for the Ohio House of Representatives, furthering my communications skills. In this capacity I oversaw communications and media relations work for 25 elected members of the Ohio House. In this position I wrote speeches, published press releases, designed graphics and literature, and crafted official statements. Since August of 2022 I have served as the Director of Special Projects at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources where I have successfully managed many of high impact initiatives. I have been the lead on numerous youth initiatives including the Conservation Teen Advisory Council composed of 70+ youth from throughout Ohio, our Job Shadow Program that over 800 Ohio High School students have participated in, and directing our internship program made up of 60+ interns throughout 11 divisions. Further I have coordinated over 20 field trips students exposing them to natural resources. Aside from youth initiatives this role has given me the opportunity to coordinate multi million dollar lodge renovation schedules, lead a renovation of a nature center, and spearhead a renovation of a COSI exhibit. Further I installed and designed 20 selfie stations promoting tourism on ODNR Lands. These experiences among others illustrate my ability to drive impactful projects, communicate strategically, develop policy and foster community engagement.
