About Will Bailey-Watson
Put simply, I love history and I love teaching history. After completing my PGCE I taught history in two schools in Reading. While Head of History, I completed a Masters focusing of history curriculum design. For two years I was seconded to teach on the University of Reading's History PGCE while remaining Head of Department. In 2017, I became the Subject Leader for the History PGCE, and in 2021 the Programme Director for Secondary Initial Teacher Education. My various interests include- Co-creator and editor of 'meanwhile, elsewhere.' website - Creator of the Curricularium History event - Senior Examiner for two A Level specs - Resource producer for Churchill Archive, TeachIt, Historical Association, and the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society - School Governor In the last few years I have been awarded- Royal Historical Society Innovative Teaching Award, Runner Up 2021 - University Teaching Fellow 2020 - Historical Association Teaching Fellowship 2019 - University of Reading IoE’s Teaching and Learning Award 2018
