About Will Cope

I am a Broadcast Journalist of over 20 years specialising in the practice and teaching of Sport. I have been involved in radio since the late 1990s and have worked for a variety of local and national radio stations in America (New York City), Australia (Melbourne) and the UK. Since 2008 I have also worked in television for broadcasters such as BBC Sport, Sky Sports, Al Jazeera Sport (now beIN SPORTS) IMG, Chelsea TV and Saints TV. I am an accomplished football radio commentator and reporter who has covered domestic, European and International matches and tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, The Europa League and the FA Cup. Furthermore I am a commentary consultant for Livesport on the Flashscore application. I have reported on the London 2012 Olympics, golf’s Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, the US Masters, and the South American Beach Soccer Championships. I have worked for organisations across Europe, North America and Australia on location in four continents. I am well versed on media law, am up to date with Ofcom codes of conduct and have represented the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) as a member of their accreditation panel. I also sit on the BJTC's Journalism and Accreditation board. I am the Course Leader of the BA (Hons) Sports Journalism degree AND the MA in Sports Broadcast Journalism at Solent University. My speciality is broadcasting, commentary and esports. I am an external examiner at two UK universities and and an academic consultant to three other universities. I have led international trips and am a visiting lecturer at a university in Spain. I am also a voice over artist for TV and radio commercials, story books and private greetings videos.
