About Will E. Ramirez

I’m a bilingual policy and strategy professional with over five years of experience in systems-level public policy and advocacy, and more than a decade of leadership in mission-driven environments. My work spans the nonprofit, government, and public health sectors, focused on improving community health outcomes through practical policy strategy, coalition building, and cross-sector collaboration. As a U.S. Navy veteran and former educator, I bring a disciplined and mission-oriented approach to challenges at the intersection of public health and the built environment. I’ve led multi-state initiatives focusing on housing as health, systems change, and expanding access to healthcare. Particularly, in regions where historically underserved communities face structural barriers to opportunity. In my current role at the Southern AIDS Coalition, I oversee public policy and advocacy efforts across the South, guiding legislative strategy, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory priorities. I’ve authored public-facing reports, built local and managed regional coalitions, and developed strategies to support community-driven policy leadership. I also serve as Board Chair of Project Compassion, a nonprofit working internationally to strengthen local capacity and resilience in the face of health and housing challenges. Every policy I support is rooted in the belief that real access to healthcare, safe housing, and economic opportunity is fundamental to a thriving society.
