About Will Langston

PhD research scientist with 13 years of bio-tech industry experience in drug discovery and development. Career goals are to master the process of preclinical drug development from early stage screening and discovery to pharmacological efficacy and IND, and make a positive contribution to human health and medicine. Industry expertise centers on: 1.) Early stage platform development for the screening and selection of candidate molecules in recombinant target- and cell-based assays, and 2.) Pharmacology studies in relevant animal models to explore potential indications and support IND applications. Professional Strengths: • Thirteen years of drug discovery and development experience in the bio-tech industry • Creation and validation of assay platforms for identification and hit-to-lead development of small molecule drug candidates. • Cell- and antibody-based colorimetric, fluorometric, and chemiluminescent microplate assay development • Molecular biology skills – Nucleic acid purification and manipulation, PCR, qPCR, molecular cloning/subcloning, recombinant enzyme expression and purification in bacterial and mammalian systems, western blotting, ELISA •Design and execution of proof-of-concept and IND-enabling pharmacology studies in animal models of autoimmune disease and ischemia/reperfusion injury
