About Will Mattinson

I am a current member of Apple’s Global Supply and Sourcing Management team where I help manage the supply side of our board electrical components. I am a former employee of ExxonMobil's procurement department. I graduated with a B.B.A. in Supply Chain Management from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. I graduated with the honor of being given the MIT Supply Chain Excellence award for the most outstanding graduating supply chain senior at Texas A&M University. In university I spent two years performing tasks for Dr. Korok Ray at the Mays Innovation Research Center where I researched and managed peers studying topics of innovation. While at the center, I worked on papers understanding blockchain, autonomous driving, and gig-economies. My work previously revolved around collecting and delivering data to my clients in the best way possible. In the data engineering team I helped support projects involving procurement data analytics and use techniques such as machine learning, data visualization, and statistical analysis. By leveraging tools such as Python, SAP, R, and Microsoft SQL Server we were able to make better and faster decisions. I also worked for ExxonMobil as a member of their startup procurement team for their joint venture with SABIC. There I helped implement procurement practices at ExxonMobil’s first greenfield site in the United States in 30+ years. I worked with domestic and international team members to transition from project policies to a full fledged maintenance organization. Currently I help stabilize supply for the ongoing chip shortage for Apple. I work across all lines of business to help secure product, and work directly with suppliers to best improve communication and forecasts.
