About Will Peterson

I got my start in UX and product design at a bookstore, of all places. I found myself obsessing over how to organize sections and make it easier for customers to find exactly what they were looking for. One day, I told my stepmom about it, and she said, “That sounds like UX.” Lightbulb moment. As a product designer with expertise in research synthesis, ideation, and narrative design, I specialize in turning complex problems into intuitive, actionable solutions that enable users to tell stories of success. My first role was as the 0 to 1 designer of Flightpath, a B2B SaaS platform for AI-driven podcast analytics. While there, I transformed Flightpath from one graph and a few tables into a feature-complete platform. While there, I seized every chance I could to learn more and do more. I picked up SQL so that I could help derive insights from the data, had weekly product design sessions with the CEO, and ran regular check-ins with the devs as we moved our projects toward launch. Moving forward, I’m eager to work on projects that tackle humanity's biggest challenges and have a tangible, positive impact. I’m drawn to initiatives focused on climate action, urban accessibility, and community support—work that makes the world better and more inclusive for everyone. I’m especially interested in designing for trust and collaboration in AI. I believe that the next frontier of UX lies in crafting tools that work with people, not just for them—leveraging the power of natural communication and AI to unlock better user experiences. I’m fascinated by how intuitive interaction with AI can transform how we engage with technology and data, and I’m excited to continue exploring and designing in this space. Outside of my love for all things design and AI, I am a person with a lot of hobbies and interests. I remember once, when I was a kid, I had to bring a collection to a Cub Scout meeting to earn the Collecting badge. I brought a collection of collections: rocks, postcards, maps from national parks. I haven't changed a bit. I’m a writer, photographer, audio fiction podcaster and sound designer, composer and musician, dancer, amateur film critic, die-hard road tripper, and board game enthusiast. I went to college to study math and music, and my language requirement for high school and college was fulfilled with Ancient Greek.(I’m a little rusty, but I can still bust out a pretty good recitation of the first ten lines of the Iliad at a party.)
