About Will Sinatra

Common lisp developer and Linux systems administrator, with a heavy focus on embedded systems, backend tooling, and server infrastructure design, both virtualized and containerized. I have a passion for Linux and free and open source software. What one person can produce effectively, a group of people collaboratively working towards the same goal can produce more efficiently and more freely. I believe FOSS models encourage that collaborative ideology, and in all of my work I try to contribute to the Linux distributions I work with, and the people that work with me. If I develop a tool for myself, I open source it, so that people can utilize it, contribute to it, and ultimately jointly benefit from its use. When I'm not programming, I'm usually building Docker containers to ship software I've written, or to be used in infrastructure I've designed. If I can't build infrastructure in containers I typically take an infrastructure as code approach and build out virtual machines with terraform and ansible scripts, typically targeting Qemu KVMs or more recently Digital Ocean. Current Projects: Alpine Aports: I'm currently a package maintainer for Alpine Linux, the list of packages I maintain can be seen in the link below. The system comprises of a heads up display, event server, database injector, reporting portal, report generator, and I/O interpreter, written in common lisp & fennel lisp. Alpine Linux is used as the system OS.
