Background

About Will Stewart

I am the director of exploration for a San Antonio-based private equity firm, a position that has allowed me valuable exposure to technical and managerial professionals across the upstream oil and gas sector. I am pursuing an MBA in Energy from the University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business. This demanding but rewarding process has helped me connect my deal structuring and origination background with broader business insights. I graduated from Texas State University, where I competed for the university track and field team in the 800-meter dash. My experience participating in collegiate athletics instilled in me humility, respect for teamwork, and an appreciation for effective time management. I am driven by a deep-rooted passion for the energy sector and a commitment to my values in faith, family, financial stewardship, sustainability, community, and continuous improvement. I aim to integrate these into every facet of my professional and personal life. I thoroughly enjoy solving complex problems and finding value in not-so-obvious places. I am an MBA candidate, Registered Professional Landman (RPL), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) candidate. I am also a board member and founder of CS Fundamentals, a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities to at-risk children in Texas. I’m happy to connect and start a conversation on a wide range of topics.
