About Will Townsend

I'm an iOS developer 🤷‍ I create things using Swift (previously Objective-C). I have a passion for clean code, great user experiences and working together with a brilliant team. I have spent the last 5 years working at PaperKite where I was the 3rd full-time employee, involved in a broad range of experiences that a company that grows from 3 to 20 goes through! I worked on, and published about 30+ iOS apps throughout the last 5 years at PaperKite. I have a few personal projects on the App Store, the most successful being Tides NZ and Road Code NZ. Both created out of a personal need, and both have been #1 on the paid charts at multiple points in time. I use personal projects to experiment, learn new technologies and spend time creating with friends. I have an interest in application architecture, and the various ways to write clean, easily maintainable code that the entire team can contribute to. I have experience in architectures using MVC, MVVM, RxSwift, VIPER and the Coordinator Pattern. I’ve been involved in the local community in Wellington, NZ. We have a monthly CocoaHeads meetup that I’ve hosted and presented at. I love meeting members of our community and talking about things we’re working on.
