About Will Uphill

Ever since I was little, creating things has always fascinated me. Drawing cars and building Lego were some of my favourite things to do as a child and this passion for learning new skills and inventing fresh design has defined my career aspirations. This passion grew in secondary school, where I enjoyed the hands-on nature of Fine Art and the freedom of the Adobe Creative Cloud in Graphic Design. I excelled in both subjects and at my final parents’ evening of secondary school, my Graphic Design teacher told my mother that I had a natural talent for the subject and should pursue a career in graphic design. Deciding that Graphic Design was what I wanted to do, the following years at college and university would strengthen my love for the subject and allow me to gain professional skills within the field. Alongside my studies, I also gained six years of experience working part-time as a sales assistant. This allowed me to manage many different jobs at once and made me understand the importance of time management. Other transferable skills include communication skills, customer service, working in a fast-paced and adaptable environment, working in a team and working independently. When I am designing, and in my spare time, I love listening to music. It allows me to focus on the task and think about what I am trying to portray in my work. When away from designing though, I am also a massive fan of racing and love to watch motorsports. I have recently completed my degree in BA (Hons) Graphic Design with Typography and am now looking forward to new opportunities that will continue my career in graphic design.
