About Willem van Ewijk

Hi, I’m Willem—a Senior Media Relations Manager at ASML, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment. Prior to this, I worked as a Global Press Officer at Signify, the global leader in lighting. My background spans European law, Political Science, and History, with career experiences in journalism and politics. After studying in Utrecht, Paris, and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, I interned with a Member of the European Parliament and started my career as a journalist, first in Paris and later in Amsterdam. From there, I transitioned into roles as a spokesperson and media strategist. Over the past two decades I was active in policy-making, strategy, and media for the Christian Democrats, the Green Party, and the European Federalist party Volt Europa. In 2023, I ran for parliament, a campaign that deepened my focus on human rights and the Palestinian cause. This led me to become more active with organizations such as Amnesty International, where I continue to support these issues. In my free time, I enjoy multi-day hikes in the mountains, attending modern jazz concerts, and reading literary non-fiction, essays, psychology, and short-form novels. I’ve recently joined a book club—a small but meaningful way to share my love of reading.
