About William Bates

William R Bates, Chief Executive Officer, PE, LEED AP BD+C William is currently the Chief Executive Officer of GEMCO Constructors LLC a national design/build mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls (MEPC) specialty contractor that has executed projects in thirty-eight states. GEMCO is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana and also has an office in Charlotte, North Carolina. GEMCO is the primary MEPC construction and infrastructure consultant for Medline Industries. GEMCO also specializes in delivering MEPC solutions and innovations for FedEx and Amazon distribution and fulfillment centers across the United States. As a serial entrepreneur, William has formed, owned and operated eight companies ranging from engineering design firms to specialty and general contracting companies, all involving advancements and innovations for large distribution and logistics based corporations. In addition to being recognized as a Model Law Engineer, he is currently licensed as a professional engineer in twenty-seven states. He has been responsible for the design and construction of more than 10M square feet of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified facilities. He also holds Master Mechanical Contracting licenses in forty-eight states and jurisdictions. William currently resides in Indianapolis, IN and received his mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University.
