Background
About William Bitter
A childhood fascination and an attraction towards any electrically-based toys like cars, trains and my first prized possession, a late 1950’s Vacuum tube stereo system my father had given me at the age of only 10, pretty much paved my career path namely, attending Northeastern University and earning my BSET-EE. While working towards my degree I had the great fortune to be employed by fledgling Laser manufacturer (CANDELA) who also provided me with a CO-OP work/study opportunity that proved truly invaluable by being both an incredible technology indoctrination but also making my education financially possible. The products we developed transitioned the science out of the lab and applied it to a practical solution that had honest, and dramatic, quality of life improvements for people afflicted birth marks and other pigmentation-related blemishes. Alternatively, the same technology was also applied to removing Kidney stones without the need for invasive surgery so we were really pushing the envelope of applied science and bringing tangible benefits to people through our work (although I never thought of it as a “job” in that sense) To me, the engineering is the fun part and if we can benefit others that’s an added bonus reward beyond compare. My position, unfortunately, came to end when the founding partners sold the company to a larger competitor and I felt I needed to take the next step in my career. Fortunately BOSE was the next phase in my career and this finally dovetailed my long-held passion for audio (which I never relinquished) into an occupation that actually paid me! This was the dream job I always thought was my calling and one in which I could continue to apply my talents into making products that continued to give people joy. My skills were next applied to the Aeronautical arena when I joined ALTO Aviation as a test Equipment Designer, ALTO was a refreshing trip back to a small-sized company where the same talents that I utilized at BOSE were applied to establishing the Qualitative performance metrics and Airworthy Reliability of audio amplifiers and speakers which were to be installed in the worlds top-tier private Jet aircraft. The preeminent supplier in this field we were the worlds top OEM and retrofit supplier. My credentials speak for themselves. Should my skill set meet with your expectations I believe I can be a valuable asset to your organization. Please take the time to review my resume. Thank you.
