Background
About William Brewer
Hi, I’m William —a lifelong learner, educator, and advocate for human potential. My professional path has been shaped by a deep commitment to helping others grow—whether that’s guiding students through academic decisions, supporting individuals in crisis, or designing training programs that open doors to new opportunities. I’ve worked across education, workforce development, and social services, and in every role, I’ve seen the power of connection, compassion, and well-structured support systems. Currently, I serve as a Career and Transfer Specialist at Dallas College, where I help students navigate their academic journeys and prepare for meaningful careers. I lead workshops, organize career events, and provide one-on-one guidance that empowers people to move forward with purpose and confidence. Before this, I worked in training and development roles with Phalen Leadership Academies and the Urban League of Metro St. Louis, where I designed and delivered programs that helped individuals build skills, find direction, and believe in their potential. My early work in crisis intervention taught me how to listen deeply, respond with empathy, and act with clarity—skills that continue to guide my work today. Looking ahead, I’m deeply interested in the intersection of education and technology. I believe Educational Technology has the power to transform how we reach and support learners—making education more accessible, personalized, and impactful. I’m excited to explore how digital tools can enhance student engagement, streamline career planning, and create more equitable learning environments. I hold a bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, and I bring a human-centered, systems-aware approach to everything I do. Whether I’m mentoring a student, building a new program, or exploring the future of EdTech, I’m driven by one question: how can we help people thrive?
