I have not made it this far to be satisfied with what I am currently doing. I believe it is essential to know the history of how we've arrived where we are now. How were things done previous? What caused the reason why we are doing things today the way that we are? In what context were past decisions made? Everyone should have access to all available information to better inform decision-making as well as to provide reference points and context. Many trends that present as new are often just something old updated to modernity, yet if no one is maintaining a historical record then how will wasteful repetition be distinguished from something novel or groundbreaking? And a better question might be, who cares? For over one hundred years life expectancies have continually increased, with more people living longer than ever before. And with that extended lifetime will come more concomitant chronic medical conditions requiring increasingly complicated medication therapy requirements. I am profoundly reminded of this every time a spouse or adult child picks up a bag of up to 20 or more prescription medications for the month filled with inhalers, insulins, and a multi-colored galaxy of tablets and capsules for someone with relentless dementia. Congratulations, you beat cancer a few years ago and now here you are unable to feed and dress yourself, falling for financial scams, and not recognizing your caretakers as the family that's known you most of your life. Just a guy with a bachelor's degree in pharmacy with over 25 years of diverse practice experience ensuring accurate review, processing and dispensing of medications; collaborating with team members to expedite urgent requests, maintaining focus on safety, accuracy and confidentiality. Communicating with all levels of staff, clients, management and healthcare administrators.
