About William Chan

I think the best way to summarize myself is to see where I have been and where I how I am looking to grow with my future employment opportunities. I've always seen myself as working to help those in need. Since 2010, I have worked in multiple hospitals under different positions ranging from volunteer to transporter to researcher. With each position, I strove to help others grow and achieve a dignified living situation. After working in the medical environment for years, I decided to branch off and expand my horizons by expanding who I helped through education, whether it was informal volunteer teaching to international and middle school students to formal employment as a teacher in South Korea, I continued to develop how I helped others grow. After I explored and gained experience in adapting to new environments and collaborating with others under constantly changing circumstances, I have returned back to medicine to continue to help others to grow. What I hope to gain from employment is a develop a deeper sense of knowledge to better help my patients and to become a part of a community to help grow it. I hope to see myself in 5-10 years continuing my work as a nurse in the hospital, with greater knowledge and responsibility to both effectively care for my patient and help grow the next generation of nurses to provide optimum care.
