About William Chien

William Chien is an Interior Design Degree Candidate from British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), a CIDA accredited program. With passion for space planning and curves, he enjoys the process of implementing project concepts and curvilinear elements into spaces to generate intriguing and engaging environments. Through the four years at BCIT, William has acquired a broad skill set which includes- AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, SU Podium - Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)- Space planning, concept development, and evidence-based design - British Columbia Building Codes and Universal/ADA design - Compiling construction drawing packages You can find my best interior works over the 3 years at BCIT here: https://fliphtml5.com/ogdoz/gjjz/ During the one-year work experience at an architecture interior design firm as an intern interior designer, William has adapted to fast-paced collaborative office work environment and has further developed his technical, time management, and business communication skills, and the mindsets for multitasking and working under tight deadlines. Being influenced by Shigeru Ban’s quote, “An architect does not need to spend his whole career making monuments for rich people,” William is exciting to enter the interior design industry to expand his experience and develop his own design philosophy.
