My background includes more than seventeen years of public sector management experience, eleven of which in city government. My leadership ability, experience and skill set include: • Leadership and vision – Proven ability managing teams and transitioning a work unit through change, thinking strategically, recognizing and pursuing partnership opportunities, and adapting the business models to provide services in a cost effective manner; • Wide breadth of experience working in four different city departments with deep knowledge of how cities work, as well as political acumen; • Strong financial management and supervisory skills - Experience developing and managing multi-division budgets, negotiating and administering contracts, handling difficult personnel matters, managing volunteers, and leading teams towards a common goal; • Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrated by my ability to work collaboratively with team members, residents, other agencies and city departments; and • Solid understanding of community services programs and functions, with experience managing multi-faceted programs, projects, and personnel.
