About William Dewitt

I have been with Comcast since August of 2002 starting as a field technician. I installed video, internet and telephony services in customers homes. I then began to troubleshoot and repair service problems with existing services. At times this would involve a lot investigating to determine the cause of the problem. In 2009 I moved into Comcast Business services. In this position, I worked closely with IT professionals setting up internet and VoIP services as well as assisting in troubleshooting network problems. Then in 2016, I started installing Enterprise services such as Metro Ethernet (fiber optic), and advanced telephony products such as Business Voice Edge, PRI and SIP phone services. Currently, I work in the Planning & Design department of Comcast Engineering as a design engineer. Where I prepare and maintain project documents, system maps, design files, and system spreadsheets for multiple telecom architectures. I also assist construction teams and field splicers with trouble shooting and solving problems that may come up during construction or general maintenance. Prior to joining Comcast, I worked for International Fiber Com Inc, a cable telecom engineering firm. I was the supervisor in the fiber optic department with eleven employees reporting to me and I then reported to the department manager. My duties included scheduling, approving time sheets and assigning work to be completed. The company, unfortunately, filed for bankruptcy in 2002. William DeWitt
