I am a trained paralegal who is excitedly looking to find new and interesting ways use my legal experience and training. I have worked as a legal assistant at a firm specializing in representing the lending community where I worked both for the bankruptcy and judicial foreclosure departments. I have also worked as a legal assistant in a personal injury law with a focus on defending plaintiffs in mass torts and automobile accidents. Most recently I've worked with a company focusing on using modern methods and technology to aid both employers and job seekers through background screening and employment on-boarding processes where my attention to detail, adherence to complying to FCRA and EEOC regulations, and a focus on confidentiality. This position also allowed me to hone my skills in dealing with the public over the phone and in sometimes hostile situations. My computer skills are strong. I'm proficient with the MS Office Suite. I have experience using PACER and e-filing in many states, including Washington, Oregon, and California. I've used Westlaw and Lexus research techniques and have conducted online research. I have also successfully used other forms of internet research techniques. My work experience has included drafting documents, client contact and support, and lawyer support. The internship I served allowed me to practice and expand my filing skills, as well as my form creation and completion skills. I excelled in my all of my classes and have a 3.8 GPA and I have a lot of experience working as a member of a tight knit team. I also have work history in construction related fields, which taught me how to be flexible and work around obstacles and deal with unforeseen challenges.
