About William Gee
I am currently pursuing a B.A. degree in English Literature & French (with an intended minor in Art History) at Columbia University, after completing A-Level Exams in English Literature, French, Art, and Politics at St Paul’s School in London. Given my fascination with the convergence of seemingly disparate disciplines, such as literature, art, languages, and politics, I dedicate much of my studies and journalistic endeavours towards the symbiosis of these concepts. I have explored these interests by writing articles incorporating travel, culture, and art for Harper’s Bazaar and Town and Country Magazines, as well as investigating the socio-cultural undercurrents of trends in travel, lifestyle, fashion, and broader culture in my own online magazine, Outrospective. Applying these perspectives to the world of art, I created the Outrospective Exhibition in September 2020, where I displayed 38 of my original photographs, influenced by the contemplative cultural ideas previously investigated in Outrospective, and sold in aid of the St Paul’s School Bursary Fund. I have carried these interests with me to Columbia, where I am a Staff Writer for the Arts and Entertainment Section of the Columbia Spectator, for which I have written pieces such as neighbourhood investigations and exhibition reviews.
