About William Gerth

William (Bill) Gerth has over 34 years of global pharmaceutical industry experience in sales, marketing, outcomes research, health economics, pricing/reimbursement, and market access. He has developed, integrated, aligned, implemented, and communicated Health Economic/Outcomes Research/Reimbursement/Market Access strategic plans/programs in all phases of clinical and market development. He has directed initiatives across many therapeutic areas including: prostate disorders, heart failure, migraine, bacterial and fungal infections, various cancers, herpes-zoster, HPV-related diseases, rotavirus, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, obesity, depression, atherosclerosis, dyslipidemia, peripheral arterial disease, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, asthma, and allergic rhinitis among others. These initiatives include conducting assessments of how 3rd party payers perceive a given disease and how they have assessed therapeutic interventions (ie, medical therapy, revascularization, or amputation). Additionally these initiatives have included development of cost-effectiveness analyses and related models and selection of patient-reported outcome measures in clinical development. Bill has collaborated with investigators, health technology agencies, and public health authorities in the United States and around the world. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications on burden-of-illness, health-related quality of life, cost-effectiveness, and health policy. His successes have led to the optimal positioning of products in formularies, reimbursement listings, and treatment guidelines resulting in a positive impact on market penetration around the world.
