Shulman, Rogers is a full-service law firm helping businesses and individuals in the metropolitan DC region in the areas of (among others) commercial litigation, government contracts, residential and commercial real estate, land use, corporate, tax, personal injury, immigration, intellectual property, criminal, employment, estates and trusts, family/domestic, entertainment, and bankruptcy. Personally, I have represented and advised home builders and land developers, both national and local, as well as other entities and professionals in the construction industry such as owners, contractors, architects, engineers and subcontractors, for virtually all of my legal career. As well, I have been involved in many general commercial/business litigation matters. While principally involved in civil litigation, my experience includes many issues related to the construction/home building industry. Among the many different types of builder/developer- and construction-related matters with which I have been involved, I have dealt with cases involving contract compliance/breach (including bulk/lot purchase agreement disputes, customer outsale contracts and contractor agreements), mechanic's lien, delay, defect, EIFS, mold, fraud and consumer protection. These cases have ranged from post-closing customer warranty disputes to multi-million dollar lawsuits with condominium unit owners' associations. Outside of the litigation arena, I have also drafted, reviewed and negotiated contracts and consumer disclosure documents, and been engaged in various other forms of dispute avoidance avenues. In addition to my client counsel and representation, I also volunteer my time acting as a conciliator for the Fairfax County Circuit Court, and working on projects for Habitat for Humanity. I am admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, D.C, New York and West Virginia, as well as the 4th Circuit and the U.S. District Courts in Maryland, D.C. and the Eastern District of Virginia.
