About William Higgins

Ever since my fifth grade exploratory project on Architecture, I've wanted to become an Architect. We were commissioned as 10 year olds to redesign our school any way we saw fit. I had wandered through the some subdivisions being built as a kid, and even got a glance at plans. The house I grew up in was constantly being renovated. I took drafting classes in high school, hoping to understand what architecture meant and how it was performed. I went to an Architecture camp at Georgia Tech the summer of my senior year and began understand how to make models.I started Architecture at Georgia Tech after graduating. I began learning to code. I traveled a lot - I got a good understanding of the styles of many places. Working for Habachy has shown me that the best and most iconic of designs from other periods and places can be combined to evoke unique feelings. Working for Joel has shown me many flawless way to link spaces including viewports and viewpoints. Each room in a building is an experience in 3D; we create that experience for the clients.I'm working for a local hardware store now because I want to understand the smaller pieces of buildings; the things that make them work. I've been working on getting a home inspection license. The knowledge I've gained from school, my constantly changing childhood home, reading diligently, and working under four different all-star designers has tempered my understanding of architecture. I owe all of the people that helped me get here a debt of gratitude for what they've taught me and where they've brought me.I love working with a larger team that's striving towards a clear goal. In school I liked to lend an ear to other friends and colleagues working on their own projects. Talking through solutions with people and working hands-on with problems is something I really enjoy. That's why I would like to work for a medium-sized or larger firm next.
