About William Hou

I am a senior analyst for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, one of the worlds leading Cancer hospitals and research centers. In my current role, I administer one of the Citrix XenApp infrastructure for the primary suite of clinical applications. As a 24x7 organization, the high availability of this Citrix environment is paramount to providing quality care for our patients. Our team has provided a consistent and stable environment while integrating systems such as a new EMR (electronic medial records) system. Prior to joining MSKCC, my position as an Advisory Systems Engineer for an end to end solutions provider offered me the occasion to work with different technologies in varying industries. The opportunity to bring technology solutions to meet the clients needs was a tremendous experience. I feel strongly about my work at MSKCC and am always eager to improve and bring new ideas to the organization. Our team had the opportunity to demonstrate the feasibility and value of virtualizing our core clinical suite of applications. Leading the implementation team, we successfully migrated the suite off of workstations into Citrix XenApp 6.5. One of the enjoyable aspects of my job is the opportunity to research and demonstrate new technology that will ultimately improve the efficiencies and the life of those at the hospital.
