About William Irwin

I am a Computer Science Graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte(Bachelors degree). In addition, I have an Associate in Science from Central Piedmont Community College also in Charlotte, NC. The majority of my tenure in college was spent writing Code(source code), as well as a great deal of Math and Science courses, so I am good w/ complex problem solving. In my professional career, I have chosen the Quality Assurance path. I am a Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst with 16 years of IT experience, with 15 of the years spent testing in the Financial industry. I understand the Development Process well, due to being a Computer Science graduate. This enables me to easily speak w/ any member of the IT team in confidence, again due to my strong IT knowledge-base I attained in college. Daily I work with the BA's and Developer's on understanding the Req's, the Data model, how to condition data for testing, understanding Processing, as well as resolving defects w/ the Dev team. In addition, I am good at logging Developer-friendly defects which ensures a quick turn-around(fix) on the defect. I truly love IT and Computing in general, thus my reason for going to school to attain a Computer Science degree, which is now my career. Cheers! Specialties: Functionality, SIT, DB Validations, BE to FE validation, User Acceptance, End-to-End, Multiple Browser, Regression, and Smoke testing. As well, I have 10 years of experience using HP's QC/ALM(v9.2, v10, v11 and v12), and I have 5 years experience using QTP/UTF and Selenium for Automated Testing. Finally, I am very comfortable writing queries against the Backend to verify the data for correctness on the frontend(OBIEE).
