About William Jeffreys

I first started my professional career at KPMG as an auditor as part of the School Leaver Programme. Here, I audited many companies of various sizes across different industries. I was part of teams before subsequently leading small teams - often working under pressure and juggling lots of different tasks! This was an awesome job for introducing me to the world of accounting and finance whilst allowing me to the travel around England, and a few places in Europe too. Feeling a bit corporated out, after KPMG, I did a season as a chalet host in Avoriaz, France. I wanted to do something on my feet and this fit the bill. I went to cooking school for a few weeks and then helped run chalets of up to 10 guests ensuring they were well fed and looked after. I then worked alongside the founders of RORA, a Financial Operations company, to help them grew through various projects that spanned different parts of the company such as education, marketing, research, sales, automation and community management. This proved a fun challenge and provided an ecclectic mix of experience such as newsletter writing, video creation, finance education, interviewing accounting experts, partnership building and project management. It's a very modern and forward-thinking company that made drastic progress in financial automation and modernisation. In need of a break, upon hiking from England to Scotland, I ended up working as Sous Chef in a pub in Wales. This was an insightful experience and a much needed break. i learned to work under fairly stressful enivornments, work hard but also enjoy life. I returned to RORA as a FinOps manager where I had a portfoio of startups for whom I helped maintain and scale the finance function (often as the first finance hire). I worked alongside the founders implementing accounting processes that would scale alongside the business as well as managing FinOps associates who performed the bookeeping and other tasks. After this, I moved to Canada where I did a Workaway, some housesits and then worked in Lift Ops for RMR in Revelstoke BC. I am now privileged to be the Manager of Finance for a great charity and organisation called Community Connections. Here I currently managed the finance function and work directly alongside the ED to ensure that the organisation thrives and continues to support the community for years to come. I have a passion for the non-profit sector as well as international development and the Italian language.
